Yo!
Our flexible design also folds for easy and secure storage inside your vehicle (on on your UTV or Adventure Moto). Many of our professional users require a recovery tool that can fold up and be stored on the interior of the vehicle, reducing the opportunity of theft, keeping the center of gravity lower for improved vehicle dynamics, and also keeping a low visual signature of the vehicle.
The 10″ x 45″ LinkTrac will fold up to a compact 10.5″ x 8.5″ x 12″ space and each track comes with a soft-sided waterproof (and mud and snow proof) storage pack to keep the mud, sand and water in the pack and not in the vehicle. The pack cinches down and eliminates any possible rattling of the links. This folding advantage may seem unimportant on a large 4×4, but for our UTV and Adventure Moto customers it is critical.
LinkTrac’s flexible design provides maximum traction in recovery scenarios without the need for digging. This saves you time and saves your strength. Rigid traction boards require you to dig out the mud, sand or snow in front of the tire to properly place the traction board. With LinkTrac simply back up the vehicle 3-4 inches and insert the flexible LinkTrac into the gap in the mud, sand or snow in front of the tire. Then drive forward. Our patented design catches the tire treads and provide traction for fast vehicle recovery (typical recovery requires two-five minutes).
LinkTrac works so well in the field because of the flexible, high-strength design. The links are joined by high-strength 6061-T6 aluminum hinge pins that allow the tracks to flex and form to the terrain. Traditional rigid traction boards cannot mold to the ground they are crossing and can easily kick up against the vehicle or in the case of the plastic boards can actually break on hard, uneven terrain.
LinkTrac easily follows the train and provides constant traction between the track and the ground surface. This continuous contact means LinkTrac performs in ALL terrain types, up ridges, over slick rock faces, in deep ravines and any place a rigid traction board will not work. No reduced traction or risk of breakage on uneven terrain.
